Jane Lowers is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Palliative Medicine at Emory. She is a former journalist, a mixed methods and qualitative researcher, and a 2023-4 Health and Aging Policy Fellow. Her work focuses on people who are aging without family and the friends and neighbors who step up to help them live independently. She is also interested in large-scale qualitative research methods and the use of large language models to characterize the composition of palliative care encounters.
